A man has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in connection with a break-in at the home of England footballer Raheem Sterling during the 2022 World Cup.

Emiliano Krosi, 23, of Ditton Court Road, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on September 21.

The burglary took place at Sterling’s home in Oxshott, Surrey, on December 3, 2022, while he was representing England at the World Cup in Qatar. Jewellery and watches worth £300,000 were reportedly stolen.

Sterling’s fiancee and children were not at home at the time of the burglary.

Krosi was arrested in Essex on Wednesday. He is the third person to be charged in connection with the burglary.

Two other men, aged 20 and 24, were arrested in December 2022 and released on bail.

The investigation is ongoing.

The burglary was a major security breach, and it raised questions about the safety of England players and their families.

Sterling has spoken out about the burglary, saying that it was “a horrible experience” and that he felt “violated”.

He has also called for better security for footballers and their families.

The Football Association has said that it is “deeply concerned” about the burglary and that it is working with the police to investigate.

The FA has also said that it is providing support to Sterling and his family.

The burglary is a reminder of the dangers that footballers and their families face. It is important that security measures are put in place to protect them.
