However, instead of a birthday celebration, they will now commemorate her extraordinary life. The family expresses gratitude to Suzanne’s millions of fans and followers who cherished her deeply.

The news of Suzanne Somers’ passing comes less than three months after she revealed that her breast cancer had returned. She had initially been diagnosed with the illness in her 50s. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, she shared her decades-long journey with cancer, utilizing both alternative and conventional medicine to keep the disease at bay. She emphasized the collective effort of millions of cancer patients to resist letting the insidious disease control their lives, finding joy in each day. Suzanne acknowledged the unwavering support of her husband and family throughout her challenging journey.

Suzanne Somers gained fame in the 1970s for her role as Chrissy on the sitcom “Three’s Company,” co-starring with John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt. Following her departure from the show, she ventured to Las Vegas, hosting a successful residency at the MGM Grand in the 1990s. Alongside her husband Allan, Suzanne launched the ThighMaster, which became one of the best-selling infomercial products ever. In a 2022 interview, she revealed that the couple had amassed around $300 million from the exercise devices.

Returning to television in 1991 with the hit sitcom “Step by Step,” Suzanne continued her career on the small screen in the 90s and 2000s, hosting shows like “Candid Camera” and the 2012 online talk show “Breaking Through.” In 2015, she competed on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Suzanne Somers was married to Allan for 46 years and had a son, Bruce Junior, with her ex-husband Bruce Somers. The publicist announced that a private family burial will take place this week, with a memorial scheduled to follow next month.
